Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers 30.00-40.00 lower in limited
supplies. Steer and heifer calves mostly 40.00-50.00 lower. Demand light to
moderate. Most months of the cattle futures were down the limit last Friday
with those limits expanded today and again, most months are trading at those
expanded limits. No Cattle on Feed report last Friday, but early industry
estimates were bullish. Cool front brought some much needed rain to the state
over the weekend and another cold front expect mid-week. This will be creating
health issues for those un-weaned calves. Quality plain to average and this
also playing a slight role in lower prices.
