Compared to last week: Feeder steers steady to 5.00 higher than last week's
lighter test of steers. Feeder heifers 2.00-6.00 higher. Steer calves
10.00-20.00 higher, spots sharply higher. Heifer calves 15.00-25.00 higher.
Demand extremely good for all classes. Friday's Cattle on Feed report slightly
friendly and among other things south of the border had cattle futures
trending sharply higher Monday. Demand continues very good. Quality average
to attractive with several thin fleshed cattle available. Wheat planting is
well underway. Spotty rain showers and warm weather across the state has some
of that wheat emerging.
