Missouri Direct Hay Report

As of early this week hay progress was running slightly head of the average
with first cutting of alfalfa at 23 percent complete and other
hay at 15 percent.
Rains this week have put haying on hold for the time being though.
The latest drought monitor shows nearly the entire southern third of
the state in some form of drought from D0-D4 in parts of the boothill.
The exact opposite case exist as one travels north were some areas seen
8 inches of rain causing flooding and damage over the last week.
NASS released the hay stocks reports showing a decrease in stocks nationwide
for the first time in three years.
Drought conditions especially to the west has made for some pretty big
year over year swings.
Missouri is said to have an increase of 10 percent over this point last year.
Hay prices are steady.
Demand is light and supplies are moderate.
