Compared to last week, steer calves under 550 lbs were lightly tested on
limited offerings, with 550-700 lbs selling mostly steady and 700-750 lb steers
trading with a lower undertone on limited comparisons. Feeder heifers weighing
400-450 lbs on a light test sold with a firm to higher undertone, 500-550 lbs
on limited test sold with a lower undertone compared to last week's active
market, 550-600 lbs and 650-700 lbs all traded steady. Demand was good on a
moderate supply. Steer calves under 550 lbs didn't have the numbers or the
quality to match last week's offering, but demand remains good on grazing
weights. Slaughter cows on a light offering sold mostly 4.00-8.00 higher.
