Compared to last week in limited comparisons, steers and heifers sold 10.00 to
25.00 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady to 5.00 higher. As of
Friday morning, a light test of Kansas negotiated fed cattle sales sold mostly
steady at 232.00. In the hay market, demand showed minimal change during the
final week of 2025. Producers continued to retain hay supplies into the new
year in anticipation of improved pricing. Market activity remained limited, as
many producers were not motivated sellers and were waiting for colder weather
conditions before moving inventory.
