REPLACEMENT CATTLE 1194 767 686
There was a full house tonight for the monthly replacement cattle special sale
at Springfield Livestock. The afternoon was kicked off with a Gelbvieh showcase
sale, and followed by the regular special sale. Sale highlights included large
groups of fancy bred heifers and open heifers, and some standout pairs with one
consignment of young cows with big fall calves at side bred back in the 2nd
stage commanding $7000/hd. Some mixed quality throughout the bred cows and
pairs led to slightly lower price and demand on the lower quality end of the
sale, but the high quality groups in the offering created very good demand on a
heavy supply.
