Compared to the last report, Demand for hay in Idaho is slow, the quality 
of hay is looking better than it was at the beginning of the season 
and a few contracts were made over the past two weeks for feeder hay.
Some people are holding onto their hay waiting for better prices, which 
have started showing up in some places around Idaho.
with the drought right now some ranchers have started to buy hay to get 
ready to feed when their cows come off the mountain earlier than normal.
According to the U.S.
Drought Monitor Website, most of Idaho is under moderate dry soil moisture 
to extreme dry soil moisture.
Eastern and Southern Idaho are in severe drought and Northern Idaho is 
in extreme drought.
According to the National Weather Service Website, all of Idaho has had 
less precipitation than normal and slightly higher temperatures than 
normal for this time of year.
