Compared to last week steers less than 550 lbs sold 10.00 lower, from 550 to
800 lbs sold 5.00 to 6.00 lower, over 800 lbs steady. Heifers sold unevenly
steady. Slaughter cows sold 3.00 to 4.00 higher and slaughter bull sold 5.00
higher. Demand was good throughout the week. Starting to see more bawling
calves hit the market some have a precondition shots. Some of the weaned calves
follow one of Iowa's certified precondition programs. Some calves with spring
time shot are getting a discount when sold.
