Compared to last week, feeder heifers sold unevenly steady overall, with feeder
bulls weighing up to 650 lbs. sharply higher with strong demand noted, and
those weighing over 650 lbs. 5.00 to 15.00 lower., No comparisons available
for feeder steers due to limited comparable receipts. A surplus of low-quality
feeder offerings that did not meet USDA grading standards was noted and
therefore not included in today's report. Slaughter cows sold 8.00 to 12.00
higher overall with slaughter bulls mostly steady. Today's replacement
offerings included a fancy set of mostly black cows, young to mid-aged, 6-8
months bred and registered, and a fancy set of purebred red Limousin cows young
to mid-aged.
