Fluid Milk And Cream - East U.S.

Released on June 25, 2025

Milk production was up in the Northeast this week. Milk volumes were much
higher than anticipated in the area. Southwest milk production is seasonally
low but able to keep up with production demands. Milk components are decreasing
slightly seasonally but remain higher than previous years. Class I production
is slow. Summer bottling production is meeting consumption demands. Class II
production is strong. Contacts report an increase in soft-serve mixes, while
hard packed ice cream production remains steady. Condensed skim and cream sales
are increasing for Class II production. Class III production is slower than
anticipated, partly due to some unexpected plant downtime. Spot loads of milk
are available for cheesemakers. Class IV production is strong in the Northeast.
Butter churns are operating at full capacity seven days a week. Cream multiples
are on the rise in the East. Spot sales are getting reported in the high
$1.20's and low $1.30's, holding true to summer projections. Condensed skim
production is heavy. Steady sales reports have prices going from $0.10 under to
$0.10 over Class prices.
