Western Iowa Precondition Sale.  Compared to the previous Precondition sale on 
December 19, lightweight steers 400-500 lbs 7.00 to sharply higher, 550-650 lbs 
steady to 1.00 higher, 700-800 lbs 12.00-23.00 higher.  Light heifers 500-550 
lbs 5.00-9.00 higher, 600-750 lbs 20.00-28.00 higher.  CME feeder cattle 
futures gaining 8.00 today.  The auction consisted of five loads, many half 
loads and plenty of smaller strings.  Good demand throughout the sale, 
especially on lightweight calves.
