Buttermilk powder (BMP) inventories are very tight in the Central and East 
regions. Some contacts state they can find product through brokers but very 
little is available directly from manufacturers. The price range increased at 
the bottom of the range and the top of the range is unchanged. Butter churns 
continue to operate seven days a week providing liquid buttermilk for drying, 
but manufacturers are prioritizing nonfat dry milk and drying enough BMP to 
meet contractual obligations.
