Dry Buttermilk - East and Central U.S.

Released on January 29, 2026

Buttermilk powder (BMP) activity is steady in the Central and East regions this
week. Contacts indicate a healthy spot market with multiple reported sales.
Many producers are facing the challenge of competing priorities for dryer
space. Butter churns remain full, providing ample amounts of buttermilk for
drying. Nonfat dry milk demand and prices continue to rise, leaving less time
available for drying buttermilk. BMP inventory is healthy, with no producers
indicating a shortage in supply.
