Compared to last week: There were few comparable sales on feeders to determine
a trend but there was a definite softer undertone noted. Highest demand was
toward 800 lb steers and heifers coming off of short wheat. Other trade was
moderate, commiserate with the quality offered. Slaughter cows and bulls
remained mostly steady. Cooler temperatures and a few rain showers moved across
the sale area this week. Maybe it's a sign of better weather this summer.
