Whey Protein Concentrate - Central and West U.S.

Whey Protein Concentrate (WPC) 34% prices increased at the top of the range and 
held steady through the remainder of the price series. Production is tightening 
as some manufacturers plan to cease output within the next couple of months. 
Inventories remain limited, with some shipments reportedly moving to Mexico and 
Brazil. Demand is very strong, with contacts noting when product is available, 
certain buyers are willing to pay whatever it takes to secure loads. 
Conversely, other contacts indicate growing fatigue with persistently high 
prices. Overall, the market tone is firm. 

WPC 80% volumes are tight, with frequent requests and pricing generally in the 
$12.50 to $13.00 range, while instant WPC 80% is noted in the upper $12s to 
around $13. Whey protein isolate (WPI) is priced in the upper $13s to $14 as 
availability has tightened slightly compared to recent weeks. Demand continues 
to increase for high-protein products, but some buyers are showing resistance 
to further price increases.
