Whey Protein Concentrate - Central and West U.S.

Released on March 12, 2026

Whey protein concentrate (WPC) 34% prices were mixed this week as the lower end
of the range moved higher and the upper end eased slightly, keeping the mostly
range unchanged. Elevated low/medium heat nonfat dry milk prices continue to
attract feed demand, and some food grade WPC 34% is moving into feed channels
near the bottom of the mostly range, supporting a steady to firm tone.
Production was steady to lighter due to strong interest in higher protein
products and some processors opting to sell liquid whey solids at a premium
rather than produce WPC 34%. Inventories remain tight; meanwhile, WPC 80%
demand remains strong with second quarter pricing indications at or above $9.00
for regular product and about $9.50 for instantized.
