Cream production is strong in the Central region and spot volumes are 
available. Contacts report increased demand from Class II processors. Some 
butter makers say they are securing additional spot volumes of cream to run 
busier production schedules. Bulk butter demand is strengthening, while retail 
and food service sales are steady. Contacts say domestic 82 percent butter fat 
is priced competitively with loads produced in other countries, contributing to 
strong export demand. Spot loads of 80 percent butterfat butter are available, 
but contacts say loads with more recent production dates are more difficult to 
obtain. Meanwhile, 82 percent butterfat inventories are tight.
