Fluid Milk and Cream - Central U.S.

Released on December 24, 2025

In the Central region, milk output is steady week-to-week and remains up from
this time last year. Contacts say the end of year holidays continue to have a
negative impact on demand for all Classes of milk. Educational institutions are
out for winter break throughout the region, contributing to lighter demand from
bottling operations and contacts say demand will likely remain light next week,
but will pick up around the start of the new year. Lighter Class I demand and
downtime at manufacturing facilities for the end of year holidays are
contributing to increased spot milk availability. Cheesemakers report more
offers to purchase spot loads of Class III milk, but some are not purchasing as
they prepare for holiday downtime. Spot prices of Class III milk range from
$9-under to $0.50-over this week. Lower cream multiples were reported this
week. Cream production is strong in the region, while demand is lighter due to
planned holiday downtime this week and next. Contacts say there is plenty of
cream available in the Central region and they anticipate multiples to remain
low through the end of the year.
