AMS_1045 MARS Dry Whey - Central U.S. Released on October 02, 2025 In the Central region, dry whey prices increased across the range and mostly price series. Spot availability varies by manufacturer, but overall contacts say inventories are tight in the region. Cheesemakers are running busy production schedules, leaving plenty of liquid whey available for drying. Plant managers say much of this is going towards higher whey protein concentrates, as those markets remain very bullish. Due to this, dry whey production is limited but contacts say output is increasing week-to-week. Domestic dry whey demand is steady to lighter as some spot purchasers seem hesitant to secure loads priced above 60 cents per pound for dry whey. Export interest remains light.
