Dry whey prices increased at the bottom of the price range and across the 
mostly price series in the Central region this week. Meanwhile, the top of the 
price range was unchanged. Spot dry whey inventories are tight, and contacts 
report certain manufacturers are sold out of loads for immediate shipment. Some 
contacts reported resale dry whey prices above the top of the range this week, 
noting third parties are the only option for loads produced by specific 
manufacturers. Contacts report strong domestic demand for dry whey but say 
export sales remain light. Contacts report markets for whey protein concentrate 
80% and whey protein isolate remain bullish amid strong domestic and export 
demand. Manufacturers continue to focus production schedules on these higher 
value products, limiting dry whey output. Prices for animal feed whey are 
steady this week and production remains minimal. Contacts report animal feed 
whey inventories remain tight and demand is light.
