Dry Whey - Central U.S.

Released on June 05, 2025

In the Central region, prices held steady at the top of the range and bottom of
the mostly price series this week. Prices increased at the top of the mostly
price series, but spot loads traded lower at the bottom of the range. Dry whey
markets are somewhat split between particular brands which are in strong demand
with tight inventories. Other brands have lighter demand and inventories are
more available; these spot loads are trading at prices near the bottom of the
range. Spot loads of milk remain available in the Central region, but
inventories are not as excessive as in previous weeks. Contacts report Class
III milk trading as low as $5-under this week, enabling strong cheese
production and steady dry whey output. Animal feed whey prices were unchanged
this week. Contacts report production is limited, and demand is muted.
