Dry Whey - Central U.S.

Released on May 21, 2026

In the Central region, the top of the dry whey price range decreased this week.
Prices are unchanged at the bottom of the range and across the mostly price
series. Domestic demand for dry whey is steady, and contacts say interest
varies by manufacturer. Export interest is increasing, though some
international purchasers are only interested in dry whey produced by certain
manufacturers. Inventories are growing overall, but purchasers looking for
specific brands or loads that meet certain stringent specifications say those
loads are difficult to find. Dry whey production is increasing, but some plant
managers say they remain focused on higher whey protein concentrates and are
not producing much dry whey. Animal feed whey prices are unchanged. Production
is limited, inventories are tight, and demand remains light.
