Dry Whey - Central U.S.

Released on January 02, 2026

The price range and mostly price series for dry whey is unchanged in the
Central region this week. Spot inventories are tight, and some manufacturers
say they have limited spot availability in January. Some spot purchasers are
paying prices above the range for resale loads. Demand for dry whey is light,
due to the New Years holiday, but contacts anticipate demand to pick up in the
coming weeks. Plant managers say they remain focused on higher whey protein
concentrates, keeping dry whey production limited. Prices for animal feed whey
are unchanged. Production is light and inventories remain tight, but spot
trading is limited due to light demand.
