Compared to last week: (8/04/25) Feeder lambs under 70 lbs sold fully steady.
70-99 lbs lambs sold unevenly steady. lambs over 100 lbs sold mostly 10.00
higher. Demand for feeder lambs was mostly moderate on moderate to heavy
offerings. Demand for lambs improved as the sale progressed and buyers started
loads. Ethnic buyers started loads later in the day and lamb prices improved as
buyers pushed to fill loads. Slaughter lambs were too lightly tested last sale
to develop any market trend. Ethnic buyers mostly picked around an purchased
lambs that feeding buyers wouldn't take. Slaughter lambs sold mostly steady to
5.00 higher on fleshy market ready lambs. Most of these offerings were fed
county fair lambs. Market activity was mostly active this sale, with good buyer
participation seen from both slaughter and feeder buyers. Demand for slaughter
ewes was mostly moderate to good. Slaughter ewes sold mostly 5.00-10.00 higher
on good and utility ewes. Cull ewes were too lightly tested to develop any
market trend. Slaughter kids all sold 10.00 lower. Demand for feeder goats was
mostly moderate to good. Buyers feeding kids specifically for ethnic slaughter
showed moderate to good demand for light weight kids this week. Kid quality was
mostly average this week with many packages of light kids noticed. Feeder kids
sold unevenly steady. Goat offerings were moderate.
