Compared to last week, feeder cattle supply was moderate, with mostly plainer
offerings and new crop calves. Stronger demand was noted for feeders carrying
extra condition. Feeder steers and heifers sold unevenly, ranging from $15.00
lower to $15.00 higher, with price differences largely dependent on condition.
Slaughter cattle sold steady to $5.00 higher. This region received widespread
rainfall, providing some much-needed relief to producers. Hopefully, the recent
triple-digit temperatures are behind us, and additional rainfall will follow.
Water supplies and pastures remain in very poor condition.
