Compared to last week, feeder cattle receipts were higher. Offerings included a
mixed supply of weaned calves with moderate condition and unweaned calves
carrying additional flesh. Overall demand was good, with stronger interest
noted on heifers. Feeder steers and bulls sold steady to $10.00 lower, while
feeder heifers sold $5.00-$10.00 higher. Notable sales included a draft of 60
open heifers averaging 725 lbs that brought $2,900 per head, and another draft
of 10 open heifers averaging 725 lbs that brought $2,975 per head. Slaughter
cattle sold with strong demand at prices $5.00-$10.00 higher.
