Front Stalling in Western and Central Corn Belt Friday
A weak cold front pushes south, bringing scattered storms and heavy rain to the Plains.
A strong system moving through the Canadian Prairies is producing widespread precipitation north of the border. It’s also pushing a rather weak cold front through the Northern Plains. A few spotty thunderstorms have developed over the Upper Midwest ahead of the front. The front will continue to move down into the Central Plains and the Upper Midwest for Friday. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will form ahead of the front tonight, dying out in the Midwest on Friday morning. But more will form near the front on Friday. Areas of heavy rain and severe weather will be possible with the storms while cold air moves down into the Prairies.
