Strong Winds, Some Snow for Northern Plains Thursday

A storm system continues to move in two pieces across the eastern half of the country on Wednesday afternoon. Areas of strong to severe thunderstorms will remain possible through the evening as everything moves east. Showers will leave off the East Coast on Thursday. Another system is moving into the Pacific Northwest this afternoon and will move into the Northern Plains for Thursday. Widespread extremely strong winds with gusts over 70 mph will be possible while a band of moderate snow develops near the border.
