Two Fronts Producing Precipitation This Weekend

A front is sagging south through the Southern Plains into the Southeast and along the East Coast Friday afternoon. Areas of showers and thunderstorms will develop along the front this afternoon and evening. The front will continue to be active across the south on Saturday as well. Behind it, another front is moving down through the Northern Plains on Friday. It will get more active as it pushes south through the Plains, Midwest, and Southeast Saturday and Sunday. Some areas of severe weather will be possible with both fronts, as will areas of heavy rain that could lead to flooding. Temperatures are much milder behind the initial front, and will fall below normal behind the second one going into next week.
