More Plains, Southern Thunderstorms Tuesday

A cluster of thunderstorms is found across the Tennessee Valley Monday afternoon, riding along a front that has been in the region for a very long time. Storms should erupt along it again tonight and on Tuesday before it finally pushes into the Gulf. In the Northern Plains, a low-pressure center continues to spin, producing widespread areas of showers in Montana and Alberta, making for some areas of heavy rain. The storm is also producing areas of showers and thunderstorms in other parts of the Plains. An area of scattered thunderstorms is expected for Monday afternoon in the Central Plains that could be severe and produce heavy downpours. With the system moving very little, more showers and thunderstorms are expected up-and-down the Plains again on Tuesday.
