Storm Splitting Into Two Pieces Friday

A storm system is moving into the West Thursday afternoon with scattered showers. The northern portion of the storm will move through the Canadian Prairies on Friday, sending a cold front into the Northern Plains with areas of showers. The more potent portion of the storm will be left behind in California with widespread, heavy precipitation that will impact the Southwest through the weekend.
