Arctic Blast This Weekend, Warmer Next Week

Clipper system bringing snow and significantly below-normal temperatures through the Midwest.

A clipper system in the Northern Plains is producing a band of snow Friday afternoon. Arctic air rushing in from the Canadian Prairies will push that band of snow southeast through the Midwest on Saturday, leaving much of the eastern half of the country with significantly below-normal temperatures for the weekend. Some areas of the Upper Midwest will not be able to break above zero Fahrenheit on Saturday. The cold won’t last all that long though, as temperatures rise from west to east next week.
