More Northern Storms Thursday

A frontal boundary continues to lay draped across northern areas of the country Wednesday afternoon. A few areas of showers and thunderstorms are forming near the front and more are expected this afternoon and evening. In addition, a storm system is moving through the Pacific Northwest. That should spark thunderstorms in Montana and the Canadian Prairies. A portion of those storms could survive overnight across the Dakotas and build into stronger thunderstorms in the Upper Midwest on Thursday. Additional showers and storms will still develop near the front as well. South of the front remains hot and largely dry, with the remnants of Edouard bringing some heavy rain into Texas and Louisiana going into Thursday before dying out.
