Corn, Wheat Export Inspections Higher Than Last Year; Soybeans Lower
Total corn export inspections are up 27% from last year. Soybean inspections are 20% lower than last year. Wheat inspections are 9% higher than 2024-25.
OMAHA (DTN) — USDA released its delayed weekly Export Inspections report Tuesday for the week ended May 28, 2026. Total corn inspections were 68.0 million bushels (mb), soybean inspections totaled 18.2 mb, and wheat inspections were 14.8 mb.
Corn inspections totaled 68 mb for the week ended May 28. Total inspections for 2025-26 are now at 2.439 billion bushels (bb), up 27% from the previous year. USDA is estimating corn exports to total 3.300 bb in 2025-26, up 15% from the previous year. Corn inspections in 2025-26 are running well ahead of USDA’s estimated pace at a time when USDA’s estimate of corn ending stocks is 46% larger than the previous five-year average.
Soybean inspections totaled 18.2 mb for the week ended May 28. Total inspections for 2025-26 are now at 1.310 bb, down 20% from the previous year. USDA is estimating soybean exports to total 1.530 bb in 2025-26, down 19% from the previous year. Soybean inspections are running behind USDA’s estimated pace at a time when USDA’s estimate of soybean ending stocks is 20% larger than the previous five-year average.
Wheat inspections totaled 14.8 mb for the week ended May 28. Total inspections for 2025-26 are now at 878 mb, up 9% from the previous year. USDA is estimating wheat exports to total 910 mb in 2025-26, up 10% from the previous year. Wheat inspections are running slightly behind USDA’s estimated pace at a time when USDA’s estimate of wheat ending stocks is 28% larger than the previous five-year average.
