Corn, Wheat Export Inspections Higher Than Last Year; Soybeans Lower
Total corn export inspections are up 28% from last year. Soybean inspections are 21% lower than last year. Wheat inspections are 10% higher than 2024-25.
OMAHA (DTN) — USDA released its delayed weekly Export Inspections report Tuesday for the week ended May 21, 2026. Total corn inspections were 62.3 million bushels (mb), soybean inspections totaled 21.0 mb, and wheat inspections were 13.5 mb.
Corn inspections totaled 62.3 mb for the week ended May 21. Total inspections for 2025-26 are now at 2.369 billion bushels (bb), up 28% from the previous year. USDA is estimating corn exports to total 3.300 bb in 2025-26, up 15% from the previous year. Corn inspections in 2025-26 are running well ahead of USDA’s estimated pace at a time when USDA’s estimate of corn ending stocks is 46% larger than the previous five-year average.
Soybean inspections totaled 21 mb for the week ended May 21. Total inspections for 2025-26 are now at 1.291 bb, down 21% from the previous year. USDA is estimating soybean exports to total 1.530 bb in 2025-26, down 19% from the previous year. Soybean inspections are running behind USDA’s estimated pace at a time when USDA’s estimate of soybean ending stocks is 20% larger than the previous five-year average.
Wheat inspections totaled 13.5 mb for the week ended May 21. Total inspections for 2025-26 are now at 863 mb, up 10% from the previous year. USDA is estimating wheat exports to total 910 mb in 2025-26, up 10% from the previous year. Wheat inspections are running equal to USDA’s estimated pace at a time when USDA’s estimate of wheat ending stocks is 28% larger than the previous five-year average.
