Corn Export Inspections Higher Than Last Year; Soybeans, Wheat Lower

Total corn export inspections are up 25% from last year. Soybean inspections are 18% lower than last year. Wheat inspections are 17% lower than 2025-26.

OMAHA (DTN) — USDA released its weekly Export Inspections report Monday for the week ended July 9, 2026. Total corn inspections were 60.6 million bushels (mb), soybean inspections totaled 15.4 mb, and wheat inspections were 13.7 mb.

Corn inspections totaled 60.6 mb for the week ended July 9. Total inspections for 2025-26 are now at 2.843 billion bushels (bb), up 25% from the previous year. USDA is estimating corn exports to total 3.325 bb in 2025-26, up 16% from the previous year. Corn inspections in 2025-26 are running well ahead of USDA’s estimated pace at a time when USDA’s estimate of corn ending stocks is 47% larger than the previous five-year average. 

Soybean inspections totaled 15.4 mb for the week ended July 9. Total inspections for 2025-26 are now at 1.407 bb, down 18% from the previous year. USDA is estimating soybean exports to total 1.520 bb in 2025-26, down 20% from the previous year. Soybean inspections are running slightly ahead of USDA’s estimated pace at a time when USDA’s estimate of soybean ending stocks is 16% larger than the previous five-year average. 

Wheat inspections totaled 13.7 mb for the week ended July 9. Total inspections for 2026-27 are now at 70 mb, down 17% from the previous year. USDA is estimating wheat exports to total 775 mb in 2026-27, down 15% from the previous year. Wheat inspections are running behind USDA’s estimated pace at a time where USDA’s estimate of wheat ending stocks are less than 1% larger than the previous five-year average.
