Wheat, Corn Inspections Continue Ahead of Last Year
Total corn export inspections are up 19% from last year. Soybean inspections are 7% lower than last year. Wheat inspections are 33% higher than last year.
OMAHA (DTN) — USDA released its weekly Export Inspections report Tuesday for the week ended Oct. 10. Total corn inspections were 16.9 million bushels (mb) for the week. Soybean inspections totaled 57.9 mb. Wheat inspections were 13.6 mb.
Corn inspections totaled 16.9 mb for the week ended Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024. Total inspections in 2024-25 are now at 186 mb, up 19% from the previous year. USDA is estimating corn exports at 2.325 billion bushels (bb) in 2024-25, up 2% from the previous year. Corn inspections in 2024-25 are running above USDA’s estimated pace at a time when USDA’s estimate of corn ending stocks is the highest in six years.
Soybean inspections totaled 57.9 mb for the week ended Oct. 10. Total inspections in 2024-25 are now at 189 mb, down 7% from the previous year. USDA is estimating soybean exports at 1.850 bb in 2024-25, up 9% from the previous year. Soybean inspections in 2024-25 are running below USDA’s estimated pace at a time when USDA’s estimate of soybean ending stocks is the highest in six years.
Wheat inspections totaled 13.6 mb for the week ended Oct. 10. Total wheat inspections in 2024-25 are now at 330 mb, up 33% from the previous year. USDA is estimating wheat exports at 825 mb in 2024-25, up 17% from the previous year. Wheat inspections in 2024-25 are running well above USDA’s estimated pace at a time when USDA’s estimate of wheat ending stocks is the highest in four years.
