Most Areas Above Normal Again
Most areas will continue to trends well above normal while far northern areas will shift toward near normal today.
General Overview: A POTENT STORM SYSTEM WILL BRING A VARIETY OF HAZARDOUS WEATHER ACROSS MUCH OF THE CENTRAL AND EASTERN UNITED STATES OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS, INCLUDING HEAVY RAIN, THUNDERSTORMS, SOME SEVERE, WINTRY PRECIPITATION, AND STRONG WINDS.
EAST: An intense area of low pressure will track from the Central Plains into the Great Lakes region, spreading precipitation from the Lower Mississippi Valley northeastward into the Ohio Valley, Mid-Atlantic, and Northeast. Expect heavy rainfall leading to flooding concerns, especially from the Ozarks into the Ohio Valley Tuesday into Wednesday. As colder air wraps in, a wintry mix of freezing rain, sleet, and snow is likely from the Central Appalachians into interior portions of the Northeast Wednesday into Thursday. Strong, gusty winds will also accompany this system, particularly near the coastal Northeast. Severe thunderstorms capable of damaging winds and tornadoes are possible across the Southeast Tuesday into Wednesday.
Temperature Anomalies:
-Days 1-3: Above normal east of the Appalachians, below normal Great Lakes/Ohio Valley
-Days 4-6: Below normal for most areas
-Days 7-10: Trending warmer, especially coastal Northeast
CENTRAL: Thunderstorm chances increase across the Southern Plains Monday, some potentially severe, as the storm system approaches from the west. By Tuesday into Wednesday, heavy rainfall and thunderstorm activity is expected from the Lower Mississippi Valley into the Ohio Valley as the surface low tracks through. Wintry precipitation in the form of snow, sleet, and freezing rain is likely across portions of the Central/Southern Plains into the Ozarks Tuesday into Wednesday as cold air wraps in behind the system. Strong winds will also accompany this system.
Temperature Anomalies:
-Days 1-3: Above normal Southern Plains, below normal Northern/Central Plains
-Days 4-6: Below normal for most areas
-Days 7-10: Moderating temperatures

Temperature Anomalies:
-Days 1-3: Near to slightly above normal
-Days 4-6: Near to slightly below normal Northwest
-Days 7-10: Trending cooler Northwest, warmer Southwest
