Tropical Remnants, Fronts, and Another System Producing Rain Through the Weekend
Arthur's remnants bring flooding to the South; more storms ahead through the weekend.
The remnants to Tropical Storm Arthur are producing heavy rain in Mississippi and Alabama Thursday afternoon. The system will continue through the Southeast into Friday, continuing to produce heavy rain and areas of flooding. A front is sagging into the South and Southeast, producing areas of thunderstorms Thursday afternoon as well as heavy rain and some potential flooding. The front will remain stalled in these areas into the weekend, producing more heavy rain. And then another system will move into the Plains on Saturday with widespread showers and thunderstorms, some heavy rain, and severe weather. That system will continue in two pieces on Sunday and into Monday — one over the Canadian Prairies and Northern Plains with another going through the Central Plains and Midwest.
