General Overview: MAJOR WINTER STORM TO IMPACT NORTHERN PLAINS AND UPPER MIDWEST WITH HEAVY SNOW AND FREEZING RAIN. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE IN THE SOUTH CENTRAL REGION. TEMPERATURES TO WARM SIGNIFICANTLY ACROSS THE WESTERN U.S.
EAST: A low pressure system will move through the Northeast on Sunday, bringing rain and snow to the region. As the system moves offshore, colder air will filter in behind it, leading to a chance of lake effect snow around the Great Lakes. By Tuesday, high pressure will build in, bringing drier conditions. Towards the end of the week, another system may approach from the west, bringing a chance of rain to the region.
Temperature Anomalies:
-Days 1-3: Near normal to slightly below normal temperatures.
-Days 4-6: Warming trend with temperatures rising to above normal.
-Days 7-10: Continued above normal temperatures, especially in the Northeast.
CENTRAL: A major winter storm will impact the Northern Plains and Upper Midwest Sunday into Monday, bringing heavy snow, freezing rain, and strong winds. Blizzard conditions are possible in some areas. Further south, there is a risk of severe thunderstorms in the South Central region on Sunday. As the system moves east, colder air will filter in behind it. By midweek, high pressure will build in, bringing drier conditions. Towards the end of the week, temperatures will begin to warm significantly.

-Days 1-3: Below normal temperatures in the north, above normal in the south.
-Days 4-6: Warming trend with temperatures rising to above normal across most of the region.
-Days 7-10: Continued above normal temperatures, especially in the western portions.
WEST: High pressure will dominate the weather pattern across much of the Western U.S. for the next several days, bringing dry conditions and gradually warming temperatures. Some rain and snow is possible in the Pacific Northwest on Sunday, but conditions will improve early in the week. By midweek, a significant warming trend will begin, with temperatures rising well above normal across much of the region.
