DTN Newsletter comments.
Corn: March corn futures closed up 1/2 cent on Tuesday at $4.47 1/2, trading to a high of $4.49 but unable to challenge recent highs beyond that amid low Holiday volume.
Soybeans: January soybean futures finished Tuesday down 1 3/4 cents at $10.51 1/2. Soybean futures closed over a nickel below daily highs in a slow and choppy session, unable to post back-to-back positive sessions for what would have been only the fifth positive session of December thus far.
Wheat: Winter wheat markets were higher on Tuesday with March Kansas City futures closing up 6 3/4 cents to $5.28, with traders adding risk premium due to escalation in Russian attacks against Ukrainian ports and energy infrastructure this week.
Live Cattle: February live cattle futures were down $1.4250 on Tuesday, closing at $230 and continuing the recent sideways price action after falling short of technical resistance to open the week.
Cotton: March cotton futures closed up 0.40 cent per lb. on Tuesday to 64.01, higher now in four of the past five sessions but rejected at a challenge of 50-day moving average resistance near 64.24.
