Compared to last week: Feeder steers 5.00-10.00 higher. Steer calves
10.00-15.00 higher. Feeder heifers and heifer calves 10.00-15.00 higher. Demand
very good of all classes of cattle. Slaughter cows steady to 4.00 higher. Lean
cows 11.00 higher as packers are having to be more aggressive, competing with
farmer buyers who are turning lean cows back out to grass. Slaughter bulls 4.00
higher. CME Feeder Cattle Futures surged this week, with the August contract
gaining more than $11.00 amid continued market strength.
