FEEDER CATTLE 4527 7652 10270
Compared to last sale two weeks ago: Feeder steers over 750lbs 5.00-10.00
higher, under 750lbs steady. Feeder heifers unevenly steady. Heifers 600-700lbs
7.00-10.00 higher. Today's offering included several nice drafts of 9 weight
steers that drew aggressive bidding from multiple buyers, with the 900-950lb
steers selling 20.00 higher. Steer quality was better than heifer quality. Two
consignors had crossbred heifers that brought as many dollars as their number 1
heifers because of flesh condition. Steer and heifer calves 5.00-15.00 higher
with spots up to 30.00 higher. Calf demand very good. Calf quality mostly
average. Weaned calves had average to full condition. CME feeder futures
limited up during the trading session before closing just under the limit on
Tuesday. Today, futures are trading in the green again. Snow and cold weather
are forecasted for tomorrow.
