FEEDER CATTLE 11061 9389 7224
Compared to last week: Feeder steers over 850lbs unevenly steady, under 850lbs
3.00-8.00 lower. Feeder steer quality was better than feeder heifers but steers
were carrying more flesh. Feeder heifers over 750lbs steady to 5.00 lower,
under 750lbs 8.00-12.00 lower. The heifer run started with fleshy-condition
heifers, but transitioned into plainer, thinner-type heifers as the sale
progressed. Steer calves 5.00-15.00 lower. Heifer calves steady to 10.00 lower.
Tuesday buyers pulled back, but plainer quality played a larger role in the
market's downturn. The few drafts of calves that were thin fleshed still sold
very well.
