Compared to last week: Feeder steers and steer calves 8.00-13.00 higher with
spots 20.00 higher. Feeder heifers and heifer calves 10.00-20.00 higher. Demand
very good. Quality mostly plain but weigh-up conditions were in the buyer's
favor. Some classes of unweaned calves were bringing as much or even more than
comparable weaned calves. A bullish Cattle on Feed report had CME cattle
futures trading higher today, which carried over into the livestock market,
pushing cattle prices to unprecedented levels.
