Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers lightly tested early. Few
steer sales opening steady to 5.00 higher. Some early heifer trades up to
25.00 higher Early demand moderate.to good. Steer and heifer calves starting
very uneven but weather will have an effect on the calf trade, especially those
un-weaned or short weaned calves. Temps are locked in on the 90's all week
with heat indexes of 100+. On a good note, good rains fell across some of the
most extreme drought areas of the state over the weekend.
