Compared to last week, all classes selling very uneven, depending on orders
from buyers. Steers under 550 sold 15.00 lower; 550-650 lbs 7.00 to 10.00
higher; 650 to 800 lbs 2.00 to 5.00 lower; 800 to 900 lbs 7.00 to 10.00 higher;
over 900 lbs 5.00 to 8.00 lower. Heifers under 600 lbs sold 10.00 to 20.00
higher; 600-700 lbs 3.00 to 7.00 higher; 700 - 850 lbs 1.00 to 4.00 lower; over
850 not well tested. Demand was moderate to good. Slaughter cows and bulls
sold steady to 5.00 lower. Light to moderate trading of Negotiated fed cattle
sales this week sold 4.00 to 6.00 lower at 222.00 to 224.00. This past week in
the hay market, demand has stayed steady and prices have also stayed mostly
steady. Harvest is being wrapped up for most producers and hay movement should
continue to stay steady throughout the rest of the fall. Overall, there has not
been much change in the hay market in the past few weeks. No sales are going
to be reported Thanksgiving week, so the next expected date of this report will
be December 8, 2025.
