Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold steady to 5.00 higher. Demand
was good to very good. Slaughter cows and bulls sold 3.00 to 5.00 lower.
Slaughter bulls sold steady. Light trading of Kansas negotiated fed cattle
sales sold steady at 248.00. In the hay market, This past week, demand held
steady while movement ranged from slow to moderate. Ongoing drought concerns
and declining alfalfa conditions have many producers holding onto inventory
rather than selling. Many are watching the forecast and anticipating storms
that could bring much-needed relief.
