Compared to last week, steers under 600 lbs sold 10.00 to 15.00 higher, while
those over 600 lbs sold uneven; 5.00 lower to 5.00 higher. Heifers sold 2.00
to 8.00 lower. Slaughter cows and bulls sold 4.00 to 8.00 higher. Kansas
negotiated fed cattle sales sold 5.00 lower at 244.00. In the hay market,
market conditions were largely steady with limited overall change observed. The
market tone was slightly softer. Movement of hay was light to moderate, with
fewer transactions reported compared to last week. Demand for hay remains
present, however, current price levels are limiting trading activity and
constraining movement.
