Northern Livestock video auction held their Fall Premier sale today,
the final sale of the summer video series.
Demand was very good for light offerings.
Offerings were too light to make a full market trend, however higher
undertones were noticed on all offerings.
Demand for all calves was good to very good, while yearling demand was
mostly very good.
Ranchers received the highest bids on their cattle so far this summer
as cattle prices pushed higher yet again.
Tight supplies of cattle continue to drive prices higher.
Demand for heifers was very good as replacement buyers pushed all heifer
prices sharply higher.
The spread between steers and heifers has narrowed considerably as demand
for replacement heifers has helped push all heifer prices closer to steer price.
PO's were very light this sale with most Po's seen in the bred heifer
and cow portion of the sale.
Demand for bred cows and heifers was good to very good.
A large offering of bred heifers were seen this sale.
The very good demand was seen for AI bred heifers, while pasture bred
heifers were met with good to very good demand.
Market activity was mostly very active throughout the sale.
Bidders were active, bidding rapidly, ringside, over the phone, as well
as over the internet.
Calves weaned over 45 days were left untagged.
Most of these offerings sold for November and later delivery.
Cattle tagged as Value added were enrolled in two or more programs and
had to be verified by a 3rd party.
The largest premiums given were for cattle sold as All Natural, NHTC
and GAP combined.
Current delivery cattle deliver before September, 29th 2025.

Supply included: 74% Feeder Cattle (63% Steers, 37% Heifers).
26% Replacement Cattle (21% Bred Cows, 79% Bred Heifers).
Feeder cattle over 600 lbs was 49%.
